A Young Man awoke to the sound of water crashing all about him. He put his feet out of his sleeping hammock and found them submerged up to his knees in water. At this realization he sprung out of bed like lightning and realized that the Present Future, a fine ship with great dignity must be…
“There is the illusion of change, then there is the realization that for all this talk of change that we remain unchanged, and the fundamental world is as terrible to behold as we were before.”
These were the words spoken to the Young Man by none other than Mr. James Hargrave, a local magnate of…
The Young Man thought it quite odd that he now sat in his dark room, mostly silent, with only the sound of raucous young men hooting a few doors down every few minutes or so. His room was a bit messier than normal, he let it get this way in order that it feel a bit more homely. The Young Man was…
On relevance
She remembered the Oxford comma and how it matched so perfectly with the Oxford shoe, heeled and textured with its complicated curvature of lines. She smiled and asked him of his preference of attire, digging and fumbling inside the hill of footwear spanned across the floor of her closet. She laid them out, placing her stockinged foot next to each pair. She read off the options to him and nervously grinned, mentally placing her favorite of the grammatical technicalities at the end of the sentence. “That’s smart humor,” she thought to herself. Afterthoughts on photographers
The thing about photographers is that they have a need for control. Some are more quiet than others, but it comes with the craft. Things become really interesting when you see this desire surface as a situation unfolds. You remember this fact, often times shocked and slightly intrigued by this quality. You forgive them and let them take over. They tell where to look, how to stand. They’re good. They have the camera, they know the drill. The idea is theirs. You are theirs. They control you. You are their art.
Then you start to re-wonder just what kind of person they actually are.

Enjoy seeing people you don’t know too well or have fallen out with walking around campus, talk to them, don’t ignore them, initiate conversation instead of feeling shame for not saying anything. AKA Be Friendly.
Get some hobbies outside of TV, drinking, and working out. Don’t be that…
Carlo D’Anselmi: Artwork: Studying 2.0
Studying 2.0
Another sketch of “the Professor” studying. The guy’s going to grad school, bless him. Thus another addition to my “Luca studying” collection. I’ve decided to boost the dynamism of my compositions in the near future, so expect some works with attention toward movement throughout and a more composed approach. Enjoy.

“It’s like a big dinner discussion that gets out of hand,” says Rob Mostrom ’12. He’s talking about Saint Anselm College’s online cultural magazine Lucubrations.
The name Lucubrations is based on the Latin word lucubrare, which means to study by candlelight, nocturnal study or meditation, and the writings or thoughts that result.
